It is a 150 meter high mountain peak on the southwest side of Fløyfjellet just outside of Svolvær. The mountain has it’s name because of the two horns that makes it look like a goat. The top was first recorded on august 1st 1910, by Ferdinant. The nature is mostly rocks. To get to the top you have to climb and you will need the right technical equipments for this. It is possible to jump from one horn to the other, and it’s about 1.5 meter cross and about a meter down. It’s the perfect climbing stunt, because it is just possible, but hard enough to give one pause. From the top of the Svolværgeita you have an amazing view over the town Svolvær and the ocean. People from all over the world comes to Lofoten every year to climb this mountain.
Very good blog, and a lot of hard word to both pronounce and write.
